I think one of the great things about having a studio in the 'fashionably obscure area of Dufferin & Davenport' is getting to know our neighbours. There is a complete void of cool here. It's just a blue collar working class neighbourhood with mostly Portugese and Ethiopian families. After working in the garage for a year now, usually with the door open, we get the most lovely drop ins.
One of our neighbours is the generous Darcy. She is from Trinidad and has a prolific garden so today she dropped off more of her extra tomatoes, cucumber and peppers. Last week she gave us bread! In a world where so much is shared over the interwwweb, it feels so good to have real life community, day to day.
So refreshing, and DELICIOUS!
